At a time when music seems focused on mass-market success and relies on calculated commercial coolness, auto-tuned vocals and synthetic rhythms that aim to appeal to the lowest common denominator, the Highmarts are refreshingly serious, unpretentious and real.

Formed in Tokyo in 2013, these 3 young girls carry on the tradition of Japanese garage rock. Drawing inspiration from ’60s “Group Sounds” to ’70s punk, the Highmarts will outdo all the boys with their primitive fuzz guitar sound.
