« Unholy Addiction » is the first single from Pythies’ new album « Suck It ». This grunge track, both haunting and sensual, grips the body and sets the tone for this new chapter, which leans toward a heavier, darker sound reminiscent of Alice in Chains and Queenadreena.
This new song tackles a subject that is still rarely explored: female masturbation. Through raw, hypnotic sounds charged with tension, « Unholy Addiction » addresses desire, the forbidden, and, naturally, addiction. The track is accompanied by a music video directed by Alexander Schipper (Fuzz Club, Crush Of Souls). Shot on a VHS camera in black and white, the video illustrates the sensual brutality of the single through a unique vintage aesthetic. : « With Pythies, I really wanted to pull back from the slick, equipment-heavy setups and technical artifice I’ve often leaned into in the past.
For me, the concept was all about the tension between restraint in how we shot it and total intensity in what was happening on camera. When I was first approached to do the video, my mind immediately jumped to Silverchair’s ‘Israel’s Son’ .
By cutting out the technical clutter and digital polish, the film becomes a moment of pure immediacy, letting the band’s physical presence, aggression, and raw energy take over the frame completely.”
« Trick » is the second single from « Suck It », Pythies’ debut album. More pop, more dynamic, and tinged with a punk energy, the track stands out with an incisive sound that contrasts with the project’s darker atmospheres. Through « Trick », Lise.L touches upon a more personal subject: the brain’s defense mechanisms, which are capable of hiding certain memories for self-protection, and how our mind can play tricks on us.
